Belize - Employment Laws and Practices

By Brett_Bumeter | February 23, 2008

Belize does not encourage foreigners to work in Belize. It is necessary to apply for residency, which can be initiated after living in Belize for six months. A fee of $100 US and a possible refundable deposit is required for this application. Potential employers are required to prove that they attempted but were unable to fill the position with a Belizean national, before petitioning the Labor Department.[1]
